An advent for two...

This year I decided to make my own advent calendar for the kids. I have been inspired by all the amazing ones around on Pinterest and thought I would have a go at one myself.

I wanted to keep it fairly simple to make but I also wanted them to each have a little package of their own to open each day. I opted to use these sweet bags which I already had and simply filled each one with a small treat or some sweets. I then stuck numbers on the corner of each bag and punched holes in the tops so I could thread them on to some twine. I quite like how it worked out, with the checked pattern of boy and girl bags. Elizabeth was especially excited when she saw it, I cant wait until they start opening them each morning to see what they have inside!

Nature in the home...

This is the last little rose from our garden. I thought I would pick it to enjoy indoors as it cant really be seen outside. I made a little hanging vase by wrapping some thin wire around the neck of this bottle I saved and then pinned it on to the wall next to some triangle stickers. It makes a nice change from just putting it on the mantle like I normally would and it smells gorgeous too!

Worthing Beach...

Yesterday we went to Worthing and had a walk along the seafront. It was such a gorgeous day - so warm and sunny and the sea was so calm.

We walked past all the fishing boats collecting beach treasures as we went. I loved all the colours of the fishing crates stacked up and of the faded boats - I could have spent ages there taking pictures!

It was just so lovely to be out and about without our coats on in November - a few more days like that would be nice please!

Monthly mosaic...

This is my very late mosaic of Instagram pics for October. The end of the month came and I kind of thought I would stop doing them... then I changed my mind! After all there is only one more after this one and I will have a whole year of little mosaics to look back on. I might even make them all into one big mosaic - a year of Instagram pics!

A couple of weeks ago I was made a suggested user on Instagram. It was such a wonderful surprise and has been lovely to meet so many new people.

I have been using my phone camera so much more lately, I just find it so much easier - both to use and to carry about with me! I will try and post some recent photos from my big camera soon though!

Garden moodboard - October

Happy November! I'm just squeezing in my garden moodboard for October - joining in with Asa and Karin and their collections of flowers and foliage from the garden each month. There are very few flowers out there now, though still quite a bit of colour with all the turning leaves and the bright red and orange berries. I love all the different kinds of mushrooms too!
