Collected Treasures...

31 Dec 2015

Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. Ours was good, though it's this in between bit I really love. The kids playing with their new toys, pottering about at home, de-cluttering and getting the house back to normal ready for the New Year.

Our collected treasures this month have pretty much consisted of just plastic finds. All collected on our favourite Winter beach, which is so lovely and quiet now compared to the Summer months.

The mixed circle of plastic was picked up over a couple of visits. This is what we come home with, bags of mainly rubbish. Mostly it's the same culprits - cotton bud sticks that have been flushed down the toilet (who new they came in so many colours) bottle top lids, tile spacers and lighters. But amongst it, a few little treasures too. Like some Lego lost at sea, plastic animals, army men or a vintage hair pin (above is all I've collected) - I'd still love to know where those come from!

Wishing you all a very happy New Year. 2016 - It's gonna be a good one! xx

  3. I am always fascinated by what you collect and it's amazing that you find such gems in amongst all that rubbish, which of course never looks like rubbish but is strangely beautiful when it's all cleaned and arranged. Those vintage hair pins are fab.

Happy new year to you lovely - I hope it's a good one. xx

    1. Ah thanks Gillian, yes it always amazes what washes up too. I love finding those hair pins, guessing they must be from container spillage or something! xx

  4. I remember those smartie tops too - so much better than just a boring cardboard tube; but maybe better for the beach that they don't make them anymore!?
