The Shard...

6 Jun 2014

Earlier this week, I went to London with my sister to see the view from The Shard. I'd been wanting to go for a while and so we finally booked a date to actually go. Luckily the rain had stopped by the time we went up and the view was pretty amazing - we could see much further than I had imagined! (apparently the view stretches to 40 miles on a clear day)

It felt particularly high after climbing the stairs to the open-air floor on level 72 - there is no glass in parts so you get a real sense of being open to the elements. I'd love to go back at night time or in the early evening, I'm sure the view must be beautiful all lit up!

  2. It sounds exhilarating! I'm not sure I could go up now that I know it's open in places. The views are spectacular, though. I hope you get to go back soon.

  5. You had an amazing view! We went over half term, it was raining and very grey and I wasn't so impressed with the view.. Although, as you said, once out in the open on the 72nd floor, it did feel rather high!!

  6. Wow! It must've been a brilliant day, what a view! I lived in London when I was a student and it's so built up that I didn't appreciate living there enough till I left and missed it, it's such an 'alive' place. Hope you go back to see it again from up there, your brave with the heights! Safxxx

  7. That view is exquisite but wow, London is built up. I just can't imagine living surrounded by all those buildings. (But it is an amazing city!) x
