Weekend...part 2!

5 Jun 2012

Yesterday evening when my partner got back from working away we went to the beach. They had some Jubilee celebrations - a brass band and lighting the beacon (though not until late so we didn't hang around for that!) It was so nice to be out and about at that time of day and with the sun still shining, instead of the usual routine of trying to get the kids in to bed.

Today we had intended to go to the blue reef aquarium in Portsmouth but there was a super long queue to get in. So instead we headed for the funfair before getting completely rained on! We had been pretty lucky with the weather so far this weekend though, so I guess it was time for our share of some rain!

Its been really lovely to have the extra long wekend - and now its half term. Im looking forward to just chilling at home in the mornings and not rushing to get ready for nursery for a bit!

Hope you all have a fab week.

  2. Ah, you make me homesick. Lovely photos of the seaside. I grew up not far from there. As teens we used to wander, drunk, on to the beach at 2am when the clubs shut. We took the kids to the Blue Reef Centre one rainy day last summer. It's not that great...trust me, the beach and funfair is much more fun and better value for money!

    1. Im sure your right, it wasnt cheap to get in either! I had never been to the funfair before. We will have to go back another day when weather better - and maybe when Archie a bit bigger. He wasn't tall enough to go on the car rides and was not happy about it! xx

  6. Great photos Caroline, I love the beach, but don't get to it often enough..when I do though I can't stop taking photos! Unfortunately though my boys would've been a whole lot muddier if they'd have been jumping around in that lovely wet sandbank!

  7. All the fun of the sea and the fair.

I spent a fair few Summer days on that stretch of coast in my youth - from West & East Wittering to Hayling Island and Southsea - the best of family times were had.

  8. What lovely pictures, the light is amazing. I couldn't work out what was going on in the image with the seaweed - at first I thought it was a bicycle track!

  9. Thank you Polly. Yes it does look like that. The lighting was really pretty because the sun was getting low and it really reflected off the wet sand. xx
