Happy New Year!

31 Dec 2013

Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was lovely - lots of time just chilling at home with family - mainly because the weather was so awful though!

This is my monthly mosaic for December and the last one of the year. I've joined together some of the mosaics from past months to make this big one too. Its nice to see so them all together like that - lots of little happy colourful memories!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and support this last year on my little blog. I'm very much looking forward to the year ahead and excited about what's to come - I think its going to be a good one!

Happy New Year friends, I hope you all have a wonderful 2014! xxx

Lately...

21 Dec 2013

A few pictures from the last week or so. We've all had a horrible sickness bug - one of us after the other, so there has been lots of time spent at home. It was actually quite nice to spend a couple of mornings with my girl. We painted and glued Christmassy pictures inspired by Pinterest and decorated cupcakes.

In between we finally bought and decorated our tree and I'm pretty much finished with the present buying and the wrapping! The kids went back to school in time for their Christmas parties and I just made it to Archie's Nativity - I felt soo ill but there was no way I was going to miss seeing my boy as a king! He did such a good job too - and I loved how when they told of Mary and Joseph going to Bethlehem on a Donkey he added  'coz they couldn't get there by train... and they couldn't get there by helicopter.'

We also managed a little walk along the beach too, It felt good to get out in the lovely sunshine and fresh air after being cooped up inside. The boy was most pleased with his find of a broken paintbrush which he used to hammer pieces of driftwood.

The kids are super excited about Christmas now they have finished for the holidays - because it is only 4 more sleeps!! I'm going to take a little blogging break over Christmas while they are at home. I'll be around on Instagram and will be having a good catch up of everyone else's blogs too!

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, I'll be back in the new year. xxx

Nature in the home

18 Dec 2013

The task for this weeks nature in the home was wreath. Since I already had a wreath for the front door I thought it would be nice to make something for inside the house. I put together this little decoration for the wall in my living room using some branches I trimmed from our Christmas tree. It was so quick and easy to do and looks quite pretty brightening up a blank wall space over the festive season.

Things organized neatly...

16 Dec 2013

These are a few of my Instagram collections of things organized neatly and colours organised neatly.

I have shown some of these as little pictures in my monthly mosaics but I thought It would be nice to put a few of my favourites together in one post. I love making these, there's something quite satisfying about putting things together in neat lines or in rainbow order!

I thought I might make this a monthly series next year too - to share my little collections of neatness here as well as on my Instagram!

And the winner is..

Nature in the home...

11 Dec 2013

This week for nature in the home Lou had set the task of garlands or something for the wall. I had bought some Ilex for a Christmassy display this week and couldn't resist threading a few of the berries on some cotton like little beads. I mixed them with a few other berries and a few little sprigs of holly from the garden too. I have no idea how long they will last like this, but I did love making it!

Weekend...

2 Dec 2013

These are some pics from our weekend. We had a really good one - lots of exploring out and about which is what I love to do best when the kids are home.

On Saturday my mum took us for lunch at Shoreham airport. I had never been before, but its an amazing building and a great place to sit and watch the little planes coming and going. The boy absolutely loved it!

We then went to nearby Shoreham-by-Sea and collected shells (from the many there) and the kids made sandcastles. We stopped at Littlehampton beach on the way home and walked along the seafront. I just caught this pretty sunset late afternoon - I've really noticed this last week or so how early it's getting dark!

On Sunday we went for a walk around Petworth park. It's so pretty there at this time of the year with the golden leaves and I love seeing all the wild deer roaming around.

Wishing you all a wonderful week. xx
