Garden moodboard and monthly mosaic - July

31 Jul 2013

Hello! I'm just squeezing in my garden moodboard for July, linking in with Karin and Asa and their wonderful collections of flowers and foliage from the garden each month. There's not so many flowers again this time, though there is lots just ready to bloom, so I'm thinking maybe next month might be a bit more colourful!

Also my mosaic for July with some little pictures from my Instagram. Lots of the beach as always, some birthday pics, tiny red arrows, big strawberry little strawberry, pretty summer skies and some more bits from the garden.

Happy August. xx

Summer!

26 Jul 2013

After what seemed like the longest term ever, our school holidays are finally here! It actually feels like summer now I know Elizabeth has no school for six weeks. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with the three of us all together. We have made a little list of some things we might like to do in the holidays - they're nothing too definite but its nice to have a few ideas!

▲ Keep a summer journal/scrapbook
▲ And a treasure box (for bits that cant stick in the scrapbook)
▲ Have a princess tea party
▲ Go for evening beach walks
▲ Potato and vegetable printing
▲ Make Fimo beads
▲ Go to Peppa Pig world
▲ Picnics in the park
▲ Go for walks with our sketchbooks
▲ Do giant footprint paintings in the garden
▲ Go strawberry picking
▲ Decorate fairy cakes
▲ Make simple friendship bracelets
▲ Have a pirate treasure hunt
▲ Visit family and friends

I have tons of crafty things I'd like to do with Elizabeth, she's so creative so it will nice to have more time to do lots of making and drawing together. Though the first thing she said when we were making our list was to have her toenails painted pink - she's been waiting weeks to have that done for the holidays!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend xx

Nature in the home - round

17 Jul 2013

I just love these big sunflowers I bought this week, they're so sunny and cheerful. I definitely think they fit in with Lou's theme of round this week, with their huge circular centres. I've put them by my little shelf space and had to include a picture of them there, to show just how big they are. The stems look giant when magnified in the vase like that!

We have grown our own sunflowers from seed this year too, though they're still looking pretty small at the moment. Hopefully we will at some point, get some big sunny flowers in our garden too.

Linking in with lovely Lou of little green shed and the last of her Spring/Summer nature in the home series. I'm looking forward to joining in again after the summer break with the Autumn series. x

Nature in the home - simple

11 Jul 2013

I don't seem to have so many flowers in the garden this month, most of my lovely blooms seem to have faded for now! So I collected some of the many fallen eucalyptus leaves, which I of course had to put in rainbow order. I then threaded them with some cotton to make it into a little garland. A simple and pretty decoration now hanging in our home.

Joining in with Lou of little green shed and her nature in the home series.

Monthly mosaic - June

1 Jul 2013

Some little pictures from the last month, from my Instagram - @carolinesouth

There have been sunny days spent at the beach and in the garden, more little collections from days out, rainbow ordering, seeds growing and some pretty honeycomb decorations bought for Elizabeth's room.

Happy July everyone. x
