Garden moodboard - March

29 Mar 2013

We have finally had some sunshine here today so I popped out in the garden to see what I could find for my March moodboard - linking in with Karin and her collections of things found in the garden each month.

I cant believe we are nearly April already. I really hope next month will be a little kinder to us - the Spring weather surely has to come eventually!

I'm going to be taking a little blogging break over the Easter hols. We don't have much planned here but I'm looking forward to some chilled pj mornings, a little crafting and fingers crossed some time spent outdoors too.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter. xx

Nature in the home

I bought these succulents a few weeks ago now and the middle one has since started flowering. I love the coral pink colour of the flowers on those long stems and the greyish leaves. These are currently sat on top of a sideboard in the bedroom, though I am trying to get the room finished and make that into a little work space, so they might well find another home.

The little succulents in my letter planter have started growing already. I was a little worried they might have all died a few days later, after being separated and having such little space, but they seem to be pretty happy in there! It will be interesting to see what it looks like in a few weeks.

Push- Up Bra blogging...

Hello. Just a quick one to say I have a guest post today over on Julie Kirks lovely blog notes on paper.

Julie is running a great series called 'the push up bra approach to blogging'  or... how to make the most of what you've already got. The 6 week course is aimed at anyone who wants to both put more into and get more out of their own blog and will cover lots of ideas and inspiration on how to blog more frequently, more regularly and more confidently.

Please do pop over and have a look. You can see my guest post here and catch up with the beginning of the series here. x

Nature in the home

I bought these pretty anemones from our local greengrocers yesterday. It was Elizabeth that spotted them and wanted to pick a bunch out and of course Archie had to have some too. I love how he smells the flowers - sniffing out rather than in. They are now sitting on the shelves in our living room in some jars I had saved.

I also had a go at making this sign letter filled with little succulents. I had seen something similar on Pinterest from here and as I had a bag full of letters in my shed I thought I would give it a go. I think it would have looked better with a few different types of succulents and some different colours though! I also have a couple of massive letters which I have been waiting to do something with and I'm thinking they would make great planters for the garden.

Lately...

13 Mar 2013

Hello! Its gorgeous and sunny here today and the snow has nearly all disappeared. I don't think I have ever done a 'lately' post with such varying weather! It was all starting to feel quite warm and spring like last week, then the rain came... and then the cold and the snow.

We have still been getting out and about though - I'm kind of done with staying at home because its too cold and rainy to get out. Archie loved playing with his little cars on the skate ramp in the rain, he always takes a little bag with a few cars in if we go out. We even made a visit to the beach and the park in the snow, it was absolutely freezing though so we didn't stay long. I loved seeing all the icicles hanging from the rows of beach huts down there - so pretty.

Anyhow hopefully that's the last of our cold snaps now and we can really get on with some spring weather.

Vintage finds...

11 Mar 2013

Its been a while since I've done a vintage finds post - mainly because we haven't been going to many car boot sales lately and also after having a big clear out I have been trying not to buy stuff that fills the house up. The kind of stuff I cant resist because its so pretty but I really don't need!

The plate with the clip on petals was a find in Brighton last week from the amazing snoopers paradise - I can always find something in there! I think it might have to go up on the wall with some other plates.

The pyrex was a charity shop find, its one of my favourite designs and I just love the colours and the tureen is definitely one of those don't need purchases but I just loved that pattern and couldn't resist!

Hello spring!

5 Mar 2013

It really did feel like spring here today, with clear blue skies and lovely warm sun. Me and the boy went down to the beach and walked along some pretty nearby park gardens. It was lovely to see so many colourful flowers appearing along there, and the first time in ages we were able to just sit down for a while - not heading back after just ten minutes because it was so cold! Archie loved rolling down the little golf course hills and enjoyed his first ice lolly this year from the beach kiosk. He still insists on eating the sand though - ice lolly in one hand, licking the sand of the other - so gross!
