A treasury for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. I love the 'fancy a cuppa' print by hello DODO and how the letters U and P are joined to make a little mug shape - so clever! And the little paper flags by Susan Taylor. They would look really sweet in sandwiches for a street party.

I don't think we will be doing anything to actually celebrate the Jubilee over the weekend but I am looking forward to the extra holiday! Elizabeth however is very exited as they are having some little celebrations at her nursery next week, where she thinks she will be meeting the queen!

Parcel goodness!

26 May 2012

I received a couple of lovely parcels this week. This is my fab giveaway prize from Rachel at my rainbow vintage home. Rachel very generously sent me a gorgeous selection of scrummy vintage fabrics. This orange one is my absolute fave, I'm thinking it might have to go in a frame for my kitchen.

I cant wait to start making some lovely things with my new fabrics. Thank you Rachel. x

I also received these lovely wallpapers I ordered from Etsy shop RicoBel. I bought them to go behind some cube shelves on Archie's wall in his bedroom.

RicoBel have the most amazing range of vintage wallpapers and you can buy whole rolls, yards or just sample pieces. And I love the way they covered my parcel in old Belgian commemorative stamps - so pretty!

Hope you have a super weekend lovely people. x

At the seaside...

23 May 2012

Oh what lovely lovely sunshine we are having.
We made the most of this glorious weather with an afternoon at the beach.

We walked along the seafront.
We collected pretty shells and stones.
We threw pebbles in the water.
We bought windmills.
We ate ice creams and melted buttons
We paddled in the sea - well Elizabeth did... a little!

Weekend finds...

20 May 2012

These are some bits I found at a car boot sale this weekend. These ladybird books were a bargain at just 20p each. The stall holder had the most enormous pile of them on the floor - lots of the same titles though!

I have no idea what I will do with the cocktail sticks yet - I just really liked them and didn't want to leave them there. There are so many lovely colours! I love the little arrow ones and the pink bird.

I also found this orange frying pan, a mickey duvet cover and pillow case and this globe for Archie. I have been looking out for one for a while but I liked the size of this little one and it goes nicely in his room. Elizabeth has been trying to find our house and her nursery school on there!

Hope you have a great week. x

Randomness from my week.....

18 May 2012

...It was Masons birthday - I bought him this vintage skateboard which Archie LOVED!
...The kids had to make some last minute birthday cards as I had lost the bought ones!
...We made brick patterns.
...We went to the park to fly a kite.
...We have been exploring our new garden.
...I'm loving having a washing line and these cute little bird pegs from Matalan
...And love this wallpaper hidden inside our airing cupboard!

I'm really hoping for some sunshine soon. I know I should be grateful its not raining but its blimmin' freezing and it really would be nice to get down the beach or be out in the garden without wearing my coat! Well I guess they did say it would be the coldest May in 100 years!

This weekend we will be doing some more house sorting, the lease on our old house runs out next week and we still have stuff in the garage and loft - eek! We are going for a belated birthday lunch tomorrow with some family and then I'm hopefully going to go and get my new camera - so exciting!

Hope you all have a fab weekend x
